This is a CNC milled reproduced version of a rare racing part for all 175-450 Ducati OHC singles. It replaces the stock cover for the top right hand side of the cylinder head. The glass window allows you to view the oil pressure coming out of the cam end and cylinder head holes while lubricating the top of the beautiful bevel gears. Originally Ducati cast this out of aluminium and used a stamped steel retaining plate to hold the glass window. The original cast piece can be seen for comparison. The CNC milled base and retaining ring are true to the shapes of the original and has been perfectly machined to provide a complete seal against itself as well as the facing surface of the head. The mounting holes line up perfectly with the head. The retaining ring and base plate have a recess machined into them to perfectly locate the glass window. The very fine lines of the milling can be seen but you may polish them out if you wish. The unit comes complete with the base plate, retaining ring, double pane glass, three heat treated allen head bolts and gaskets for both sides of the glass. In the past there have been less expensive attempts to reproduce this rare part but none are as nice as this. When the engine is cold, oil will half fill up the compartment. As engine temp heats up, the oil thins and drains faster. In a short while it will be like watching rain on your windshield. If you are interested, I am selling them for $125 each. I've only made 30 so as they say, "supply is limited".
