WELCOME TO DUCATI DESMO

LAST UPDATE 30/09/2005:

Well it's been a long time since the last update but I've not been idle. I been taking a break from working on the bikes this summer to concentrate on riding them rather than waste was passes for the British summer sweating and swearing in the garage.

Work will commence again in earnest after the Stafford show in October.

I've also become more involved in the Ducati Owners Club so check it out along with the new Forum

My 1979 900SS. Put back to something like its former glory.

This site is dedicated to all things Ducati and to my wife and family who without complaint (well not too many) allow me to indulge myself in this hobby which in a short space of time has become a disease! At least it stops me from vegetating in front of the TV.

I have an interest in Ducati's of all ages, made under all the various management regimes, of which there has been many!

The Site is constantly under construction so keep an eye out for updates as I add more sections and content.

The 'Current Project' page is now plural : 'projects' as I have two 250's to work on.

The 450 SCR page is effectively a pictorial step by step documentary of my efforts to restore my 450 Scrambler.

The Silver Shotgun ( Also know as 'new Kitchen' to the wife) is a different proposition (hopefully) although its at least a year older than the Scrambler its had a far easier life down under apart from an altercation with a squirrel of all things! Though numerous bodges are starting to become evident as time goes by. A complete strip down this winter or maybe next ( see current project!) will reveal how much further damage the wallet will sustain.

I'm believe in rebuilding bikes to a near standard condition, but definitely not concourse. I'll save that sort of anal retention type of thing for my old age! I've used modern tyres and stainless fasteners where appropriate as I hate crappy plated bolts. I'm also not going to polish the life out of things like engine cases ( I've seen many photos of bikes where the timing marks have been polished away!) and fork sliders as they were never perfect to start with. Plus these things are over 30 years old so its only right that they have a few battle scars.

If you are trying to find information or difficult to source parts, try the 'LINKS' page. Here lie useful links to sites, services and people I have used, found helpful or are a source of great knowledge.

If you have any feedback for me (either positive or negative!), information or pictures for the gallery section or require a link to you own site please feel free to contact me. If you need any help with a Ducati I'll happily tell you what little I know or point you in someone's direction. One thing I've learnt in the last year is that there are a lot of people out there who know virtually everything. Its just simply a matter of asking the right person the right question. Also If you have any parts / basket cases you wish to sell or think may be useful to me feel free to:
